Secretary-General of the African Civil Aviation Commission, Iyabo Sosina has commended Ghana for taking the “giant” step toward making Ghana an aviation hub in West Africa.

According to Iyabo Sosina, the three-day West African Air Expo, hosted by the country is in the right direction as it would open up Africa for foreign investment, saying, “It is in a bid to bring the private sector, business people from around the world to partner with the state in Africa for aviation to develop and to ensure connectivity”.

She lauded Ghana for being the first country in West Africa to have taken the initiative in establishing a strong aviation industry on the African continent.

“You find the likes of it in the most developed parts of the world. We’ve never had any in West Africa so this is a feat for Ghana, not only for Ghana because I know they have stated it several times that it’s for the whole of Africa,” she noted.
